CATLINK says the model includes presence detection. That is a manufacturer-stated feature, not a guarantee of your cat's safety. Manufacturer guidance recommends a gradual introduction, initially leaving the appliance switched off or in manual mode with the old tray alongside. There is no need to hurry the change because you are keen to retire the scoop. Cats rarely share our enthusiasm for household upgrades.

A removable waste bin and compatibility with standard waste bags give this model a practical appeal that has little to do with its Luxury name. No special bag hunt. This part of the routine does not depend on replacements made specifically for the appliance. We like that straightforward approach: suitable bags can join the ordinary household supplies, without another dedicated range to keep track of.

In a flat where the litter box lives in the bathroom, the useful detail is being able to take the bin out to empty it. Think about the route from that room to your household rubbish, especially if it involves stairs. How often will the bin need attention? The number of cats and the litter they use affect the rhythm. If the neighbour is feeding your cats while you are away, include the bin in your instructions rather than leaving them to work it out beside a hungry audience.

It is there to help with smells, though it cannot promise a welcoming hallway regardless of what is collecting in the bin.

If the appliance lives beside the bathroom laundry basket, that means the part can leave the cramped corner when washing is due. For us, the appeal lies in these specific, useful parts. Your cat may supervise the washing. We would not expect much assistance.

Weight monitoring adds another reason to consider this automatic litter box if you want measurements of your cat's weight alongside the litter routine. Would you use those readings? They can provide something concrete to discuss with a vet when concerns arise. Choose around those actual chores. If your cat remains reluctant to enter despite a gradual introduction, keeping the familiar tray is a sensible alternative. A weight reading is useful information, but it is a poor reason to insist on an appliance your cat avoids. Useful readings cannot persuade a reluctant cat.
